head up in the clouds

In between
the laundry
the phone calls
the dishes
the gathering
the tiding
the cooking
and the lists

I surrender
to the rocker
outside
in the yard
and gaze
up
at the clouds
as they float
above
and slowly
became
a bird that flies

past the sea horse
that
dances
above the

the laughing
dinosaur face

as it smiles at
an angel
while she
flutters her wings

and spreads
love
all
around

what can
you create
when you
have your head
up the in clouds?

I do not have to...

Some of us are obsessed with making lists, and some of us tend to avoid them.  Lists can help us feel more organized and productive, and at other times, they can make us feel defeated and overwhelmed. They can provide us with a sense of self-worth or can they can lower our self-esteem.   Some of us even create items on our lists (even after we have done them) just so that we can cross them off.

Whatever our relation is to making lists, we can create an endless number of "to do" items:

grocery shopping lists
school supplies lists
timelines
list of recommended art supplies
books to read
wish lists
travel packing items
new years resolutions
important telephone numbers
gratitude lists
phone calls to make and to return
daily priorities
pros and cons
25 random things about me
honey do lists
intentions
things to do before I turn (whatever that magic number is)
a how to ~ step by step
blogs to visit

Yes, we all have the desire to accomplish, to organize, to be productive, to acquire, and to succeed.  Most of the lists we create, reflect what we believe, we “have to do”.  But ~  what if, seriously, what if ...  we do not have to?

Today, I invite you to create a “do not have to” list.   I’ll share first.

I do not have to ….

… figure out my past

… always understand what I am feeling

… have just one favorite color

… dive head first into the water

… know what comes next

… smile when I am feeling sad

… be understood by everyone

… explain myself

… finish what I start

… share when I don’t want to

… know all the answers

…  be the best

… say “yes” when I don’t want to

… love my hair ~ everyday

…  feel responsible for how others feel

… apologize when I feel I am not sorry or wrong

Now, it’s your turn. Make your list and see what you
discover.

Living Intentionally

Law of Attraction Cards, by Esther Hicks

In·ten·tion   [in-ten-shuhn]–noun
1. A plan of action.  2. An aim that guides to intention.  3. An act or instance of determining mentally upon some action or result.
4. Quality of purposefulness.

Setting intentions can pave the path for living a life with purpose.  Many of us choose to set our intentions at the start of a new year, on our birthdays, or during a new moon.  These are all wonderful times to reflect, move forward, and set intentions.

There is no need to wait for the perfect opportunity
to set intentions.

 The perfect opportunity is
 ~ NOW ~

My Art Journal for writing Intentions

Each and every moment is precious and presents us with the opportunity to live purposefully. In each and every moment, we have the power to choose how we want to be living our lives.

The older (and wiser) I become, the more aware I am of time; how precious it is, and how fast it can zip right by us.  I want to live my life knowing that I am choosing to live each moment intentionally.

Living life with purpose can begin with a practice or ritual that defines, acknowledges, and manifests our intentions. Whether it’s lighting a candle each morning and saying an affirmation, meditating, writing from the heart, or creating vision boards.  Now is the time to create the story you want to be telling.

The one you want to be living.

My Vision Board for August
I know
I have the power
 to choose
who I am with,
 where I go,
 what I say,
 how I feel,
 the story I tell,
and the life I create.

Today, I invite you to reflect on these questions.

How do I want to live this life of mine?
Who do I want to spend my time with?
What do I want to be doing?
How do I want to feel?

As you move closer and closer
to visualizing and feeling the life you want to live,
ask your self…

What do I need to change, transform or shift
in order to experience
what I want?

Be patient my friend, the answers or messages are waiting for you.

Close your eyes.
Quiet your mind.
Take a deep breath.

Do you hear them?

Can you feel them?

When the answers are clear, write a list of your intentions.

Make them beautiful, bold, fearless, abundant, joyful, and loving.

I’ll go first, come on and join me.

~~  Choose with confidence and no regrets.
~~  Strive to create organization, less clutter, and simplify.
~~  Make healthy food choices and listen to my body.
~~  Explore, develop and share my creative energies.
~~  Remember to stop and take deep breaths throughout the day.
~~  Tell others what I want rather than waiting for them to guess.
~~  Honor all compliments.
~~  Talk about my dreams as if they are already happening.
~~  Be with people who inspire me, and motivate me to grow.
~~  Love deeply.
~~  Invest more time in my relationship with myself.
~~  Know when to let go, and when to hold on.
~~  Listen deeper, pause more, and interrupt less.
~~  Look to my inner self to validate my instincts.
~~  Allow good enough ~ to be enough.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing this journey with me.

As always,
 there is space here
 for you to share.
